5th Grade Rocks!
We can all learn a lesson from geese flying in a V-formation. As geese flap their wings in this formation in creates and "up-lift" for the bird behind it making flying significantly easier. When a goose falls out of this formation they feel the drag and resistance of flying alone and quickly come back into the formation. It is also interesting to note that geese rotate the lead position so the head goose doesn't tire quickly from the hard work. The geese also honk as they fly to encourage each other to continue flying. If a goose were to get hurt two geese follow the goose to the ground and stay with it until it recovers.
As a class when we work together as one the work is light and more enjoyable. If we ever fall behind and out of formation it will become hard for us, but we can always rejoin the group! Everyone will get a turn to be the leader, whether it is coming up with new ideas, leading our class to an activity, or presenting information to the class. We will be more successful when we all takes turns to teach and lead. Mostly, as a class, we will encourage each other to do their best. We will never leave anyone behind and work together so that we can be successful! There will always be help available for those who need it and ask for it!
